Jennifer Aster

On the road again. Right now I’m at the Charles de Gaulle airport, heading to Moscow.

Favorite Magazine:
I’m really excited about new Ellen Von Unwerth’s VON magazine – it has a bohemian, spicy and sensual vibe, with a dark naughty undertone and a powerful energy.

Favorite Designer:
I admire Vivienne Westwood for her fearlessness and 70s cutting edge vibe, Miuccia Prada for her girly, playful yet sophisticated looks, Martin Margiela’s bold decisions, Hedi Slimane’s rocknroll chic, Alessandro Michele’s sensual, baroque designs that make you feel like you are inside of a tender dream or a beautiful dutch painting. I had butterflies when I first saw his SS 2016 collection! There are quite a few great artists in the fashion industry who are making art history in a very special way.

How would your best friend describe you?
«Determined, spontaneous, free-spirited, strong, gentle and kind, honest and extremely loyal. The «no time to explain, get in the car, we going on an adventure» type of girl.» Here you go. My friend is too sweet.

How would you describe yourself in one word?

3 things that make you feel sexy?
Being in love, Agent Provocateur naughty lingerie and neo-noir.

Favorite food?
Anything mint chocolate or ginger flavored. Mhmm. And my latest discovery: sweet potato fries. I can’t even.

What’s your favorite zoo animal?
My favorite wild animal is crocodile. They are magnificent.

What is your morning ritual?
Meditation, moisturizer and yoga.

Where have you never been but want to go?
I’ve been traveling the world since childhood, first with my parents and then by myself, I’ve visited 28 countries and more than 70 cities so far, but there is still so much to be seen. I would love to get lost in Tokyo and immerse into their surreal culture, explore mysterious towns of Peru and Mayan pyramids of the Sun and the Moon in Mexico, to visit Tibet, Rio de Janeiro, India, African jungles, travel more across America (you know Forrest Gump style), to see Grand Canyon and Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. Have you seen pictures of it? It will blow your mind. I really can go on for hours. Our planet is incredibly beautiful and full of wonders and we are so lucky to be here. I get excited just by talking about it.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
The ones who inspire. Serge Gainsbourg, Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, CY Twombly, Stanley Kubrick, Oscar Wilde and Bono.

The nice guy…
The nice guy is a nice guy. The great guy is talented, adventurous, strong, passionate and wild. The one who stays true to himself and his dreams.

Who is your celebrity crush?
Brigitte Bardot and Kate Moss.

5 things I can’t live without:
Butterflies in my stomach, dark sense of humor, eyes to watch stars on the night sky, meaningful connections and courage to keep living for a dream.

What’s something you enjoy doing in your free time?
Getting cozy and reading a book, it’s my thing really. I’ve been studying literature at the Moscow State University and I love reading, especially russian writers, such as Gogol and Nabokov. I love hiking, one of my friends always joke that I’m like a wild animal who craves nature when it gets dark. I also have passion for the arts and I get inspiration at the art galleries, museums and concerts. Recently I went to Moscow’s contemporary art biennale to see Bjork’s music videos in 360 virtual reality – one of them was filmed inside her mouth. Literally. That’s just crazy and crazy is something I enjoy a lot.

What Social Media Platform do you use?
Instagram, it’s @lolajanex – come say hi!

Cake or Ice Cream?
Cake, cake, cake. Make it carrot. Unless you have japanese mochi ice cream.
