The first time David Kirscher took pictures of Laura, it was in Madrid during winter, he was just getting to know her, she had her head shaved and was working in a sushi restaurant. The second time David took pictures of her, it was the end of summer. Lots of things had happened, he was about to move back to Paris, she had grown long hair with extensions that covered her whole back. She had now become his friend and he was sad to leave her. In the spring of this year, he went back to Madrid. Laura had moved to a new house, changed jobs at least ten times, split up with the boy she was in love with, got rid of the extensions. The light on her balcony was like gold and it felt natural to catch the moment just the way they met: with a camera.
